I booked my move through a broker (Best Interstate Moving and Storage - also a bad company, do not use them ) and they hired Federal Moving Corp. The movers damaged several pieces of my furniture and did not deliver one item. After I noticed the damage to my belongings, I immediately reached out to Vlad at Federal Moving Corp. I texted and called him several times over the course of a week and a half inquiring about filing an insurance claim and received no response. I tried calling the phone number for Federal Moving Corp listed on my contract and on their website and it was not in service. After weeks of no response they sent insurance info for a company that they do not have and never had a policy with.

In addition to the mishandling of my property, communication with Federal Moving Corp. was incredibly difficult. They did not stay in contact with me with regards to scheduling the delivery of my items. I had to repeatedly text Vlad to find out status updates as there was no other way to communicate. I was given the wrong phone number for the driver of the vehicle so was left in the dark about a specific delivery date. I was told the driver would contact me 24 hours before delivery but only received 3 hours notice of when they expected to arrive, which was a time I had specifically told Vlad that I would not be available. Fortunately, the movers were able to delay a few hours to meet my schedule. I had an agreement with Best Interstate Moving & Storage and also with Vlad upon pick up that there wouldn't be any extra charge for stairs. I moved into a 2-story townhouse and the delivery mover complained the entire time about having to bring things up the stairs and wasn't very careful with my items.



Do not under any circumstances use this comopany for your move!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4600

So far there are only 1 star or 5 star reviews for this moving company which is interesting in itself. Unfortunately, I fall on the 1 star side. I called Mitch to deliver my sleep number mattress and bike. Mitch quoted price and I decided to hire them. I asked about insurance several times via email and voice messages but he always dodged my question. This should have been warning sign number 1. We set up a time and place to pick up my items and two people came and picked up my items. I asked about insurance again and the mover insured me that my items would arrive undamaged and he's been doing this job for 7 years (new york area code, last four digits 2374, I would be weary about trusting them). They arrived, folded my mattress in half, wrapped it in cellophane and off it went into the truck. My issues are listed below.

1) My bike arrived with a bent wheel and there dirt scuff marks along the side of my mattress. The dirt scuff marks I can get over but the bent wheel is problem. And since the mattress was in a V shape for 45 days, it didn't quote fold back in a flat shape at first but eventually did.
2) Mitch indicated that the shipment would be around one week. A precise estimation is not available since it involves issues beyond his control which is completely fine. I expected around a week, maybe 2 weeks at worst if issues cropped up. Instead it took 45 days.
3) The person who delivered my items asked for an additional $150 to bring it into the apartment. Mitch and the person who picked up my items said there would be no charge for bringing the items up. He said he was a sub-contractor with Federal Movers and he's not beholden to the rules that Mitch stipulated. Luckily, my friend receiving the item only had $40 and that's what he took.
4) After a week passed from picking up my items, I called the company in New York that picked up my items (they have 1111 number as the last four digits, stay far away from them) said the items would go on the next truck Tuesday and then when it didn't make truck, they would say next Tuesday and this pattern repeated multiple times. And often times I would call, they would say call back in 10 minutes, I would call back and they would either immediately hang up on me or not pick up on the phone. I would then switch phones and they would pick up leading me to believe that they were screening out my calls.

I've tried to call Mitch and I've sent him an email, no response via email and the line is always busy when I call (perhaps they went out of business? Screening out my calls?). Bottom line, stay away.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $1060

I had a fantastic moving experience through Federal Moving Corp. The movers were extremely professional and easy to work with. They provided clarity throughout the move and didn’t start getting reckless and careless when they were tired. They understood that the things they were moving were precious and irreplaceable antiques. Everything fragile was wrapped in thick blanket like fabric to give it an extra layer of protection. My vanity glass and furniture was protected nicely. They also positioned my things carefully to prevent any damages. I really appreciate them doing such a careful job. I can keep passing this furniture down to my family and that makes me extremely satisfied. I recommend Federal Moving Corp if you’re looking for a professional moving experience!

Planning a move with Federal Moving Corp has proven to be a very professional and satisfying experience. The movers were well versed in transporting even the most fragile and antique items. This was an absolutely essential skill set the moving company I hired had to have.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be worth my time or effort hiring a company who can’t guarantee safety formy irreplaceable items. This company proved to be reliable throughout the transport process. Pick up happened on time and delivery was less than a week after.

They secured the antique furniture, glass, and heirlooms with special blankets, cardboard, and wrap depending on the item. They did a wonderful job with making sure nothing was damaged through transit. I would recommend them for doing such a great job to prevent anything perilous from happening to our coveted, inherited belongings.

Federal Moving Corp is not just another moving company. They are respectful, professional, knowledgeable, affordable and patient. Finding more than one of these characteristics for the average moving company is seldomly seen. Luckily, Federal Moving Corp isn’t average one bit! Throughout my move I nervously awaited the bad news, where they would say, “we accidentally broke something,” or “oops, it was dropped” but neither statements were ever made. And nothing along those lines were said.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the precautions that were taken to properly secure my cherished belongings. The movers took pride in properly securing my belongings and in efficiently transporting my things to my new residence without any discrepancies. Everything made it in one piece, exactly the way they found it. This was a productive move and changed my overall perception of how I see moving companies as a whole. I actually wouldn’t mind hiring them again.

This was a well executed moving experience from beginning to end. I reached out to Federal Moving Corp before making a final decision on two other moving companies I called. Federal Moving Corp was willing to beat the estimates of the other 2 companies and made assurances that the others didn’t mention, So I put my faith in them. I am very happy I did, because I ended up not being disappointed. They delivered everything to my new home unscathed. Just like they promised and the price never fluctuated. Thank you again!

I had a great experience through this moving company. Since they did everything necessary for a stable move, nothing was lost, broken, or scratched. This was one of my major concerns with hiring a moving company. Complete disregard for my things. But to my surprise, they were very defensive of my things and made sure to maintain accountability for everything that was in their possession during transportation. Drop off happened around the time that was promised.

Each item that was transported was exactly the way I left it. They use all the necessary moving resources to keep our items secured, whether it was tape, bubble wrap, cardboard, or blankets to cover fragile vanity and miscellaneous items. They ended up doing a pretty good job in the end. Everything made it in one piece, so what else can you really ask for? Overall, this was a great moving experience and I’d happily recommend Federal Moving Corp to others.

First and foremost, I want to thank Federal Moving Corp for putting my doubts to rest during this move. They did what it took to make a lasting impression all the way until the very end, when our things were safely unpackaged and transported into our new home.

Secondly, the communication was on point from the time the move began, until the move ended. This set the tone for the moving experience and made me have a newfound appreciation for Movers in general. They managed our expectations very well and delivered great results.

I was in a situation where I needed to vacate my apartment and move to another state in less than a week, it was hectic to say the least. I contacted Federal Moving after doing some research on other companies and I found that they had the best reviews out of all of the other companies. The sales rep was very professional and was willing to help with my current situation. They came and performed the move with the utmost professionalism. I felt very taken care of from the start to the end of my move. I highly recommend Federal Moving for anyone who is looking to relocate without dealing with all the stresses of moving!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1900

Beware of Federal Moving Corp. (federalmoving.com) and their sales agent Cross Country Moving Group, ccmover.com (CCMG). Go directly to a different shipping company who will give you real information and deliver your goods when promised. Federal Moving and CCMG are great at marketing and will not perform or give you any useful information about a delayed deliveries. When you try to get to Federal Moving they will not respond. I had terrible service and still don’t have my belongings.

My experience: The pick up was not too bad. It was promised on June 27, 2019 in Washington, DC, and got pushed back a day. Beware of delays as you arrange for truck parking as that can lead to upcharges. The pickup guys were nice and efficient.

Now the real problem - no delivery and no information. I was promised that my goods would be shipped to Denver and stored for delivery 2 1/2 weeks later in the window between July 14 to 16. It is now 1 month since my pick up and two weeks past my promised delivery and I don’t have any of my household items. I can’t even find out where my household goods are or when they will be delivered. I have been told repeatedly that the goods would be delivered in 3 to 5 days and then no performance. As best as I can ascertain, the goods are still in storage in New Jersey. Who knows when, if ever, I will get my goods or whether they will be damaged and in good condition.

The only thing that matters to Federal Moving and CCMG is selling you shipping services. They do not care about timely delivery, giving helpful information, and your needs. Go some place else.

So, here's what I can say about my move with Federal Moving..it was very smooth and professional. My friend made the referral and I am glad she did. As stressful as moving can be, these guys did their best to make it a good experience. First of all, I got a great price, even though it was pretty much a last minute job as I needed to be out of my apartment on march 29 and it was the 22 when I did the booking. Anyways, when time came to move on the 29th the crew showed up even before the scheduled time and were a very polite bunch. I had a lot of stuff and big pieces but I knew it wouldn't be too bad because there were elevators in both buildings. The foreman, I believe his name was Josh, was awesome at what he does and ran his crew well. The guys were professional and looked like they knew what they were doing. They helped me out with some stuff that I wasn't able to get ready and wrapped everything up. The actual move was fairly quick and painless. Nothing was broken and everything was on point. Before I knew it, we finished up the contract, and I was in my new apartment.
Overall it was a wonderful interaction and I would definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to move!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2860

At this point in time, I cannot recommend Federal Moving Corp. My family selected the company because of its competitive prices, and because we value smaller businesses.

Federal Moving picked up our furniture on May 31 with no issue. Our scheduled delivery date (for a Maryland to Texas move) was June 6, which seemed in line with the estimates of other companies. After we contacted Federal Moving, they indicated a one-week delay. This was understandable. After this, however, they indicated two additional weeklong delays—extending beyond the 21-day legally allowed delivery period.

As of now, we are on our fourth delay (28 days since pick-up) with no clear indication of when our belongings will arrive.

We greatly respect Federal Moving Corp., along with all start-up businesses. Our key concerns are not so much with the delay as with the company’s:

• Lack of communication: At no point has the company reached out to let us know about a delay.
• Inconsistent information: The company has provided conflicting information about the progress of the truck (stating on Monday, July 1 that it had not made as much progress as it had on Friday, June 28). While we would like to think that the company is not being dishonest about these facts, they have provided too little information for us to make a more hopeful conclusion.
• Disrespect: The company hung up when a complaint was made.

We are happy to chalk this all up to a rough few weeks for a start-up company. These things happen. But if we don’t receive a basic level of honest and respectful communication, we will need to escalate our discontent to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). We are not happy about having to do this.

If we experience a change in customer service over the next few days, we are more than happy to remove this review. At this point, it seems like the best forum to communicate.

This is a really horrible moving company, that was assigned to my wife and I via our broker (Budget Van Lines).

They were out of contract by 2 weeks on delivery date, there is no one in their office to answer phone calls (except "Vlad" who will answer the phone very rarely), they did not give me any weight tickets despite asking both as pickup and delivery multiple times (thus I cannot get my credit if it was underweight), and of course there is $3,000 worth of damaged goods and missing items.

Can't imagine it gets much worse with the exception of the shipment just never arriving.

And of course they outsource their insurance to another unreputable company "MyMoveClaim" which just provides weight estimates for your items to cover the standard $0.60/lb coverage. Doesn't help on my 65 inch flat screen TV worth $1500 that weighs 20lbs.

We will be filing a law suit against them for several damages.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3000

A terrible experience. We contracted with Federal Moving Corp. to move household goods from DC to Albuquerque. They picked up the furniture one day late (not too bad). Delivery was over a month late - a month of camping out without furniture, clothes, and kitchen equipment. Our delivery window was August 1, 2019 to August 7, 2019. On August 8th, the furniture was still in a warehouse in either New York or Brooklyn (despite repeated requests, they never told us where our furniture was).

Communication about when our goods would be put on a truck was dreadful. We would call, then be told they would call us back when they'd checked with the dispatcher (the person we spoke with often said "I don't want to keep you on hold while I'm checking."). Unfortunately, they would never call back. They were too busy and did not have enough trucks to deliver our goods in a timely manner.

Finally, they used a subcontractor, who delivered the furniture on September 7 - OVER A MONTH LATE. The subcontractor called the day before delivery to say that unless we paid $950 IN ADDITION TO THE CONTRACT PRICE, and paid him in a money order with the name of the payee left blank, he would "turn the truck around and take your furniture back to New York." At no time had Federal Moving, or anyone else, informed us that there would be costs over and above the contracted rate. Nor did they provide us with an explanation for the additional costs. We spoke with Manuk Torosyan, an official at Federal Moving Corp, who did not have an explanation for the added costs. After much debate, he agreed to reduce the additional charges to $320. We did not believe we owed this, but paid because the subcontractor was holding our furniture hostage.

It got worse. On the day of the move, the subcontractor demanded an additional $550 to move the furniture into the apartment. Our contract provided for door to door service that included use of an elevator at the destination and reassembly of furniture that the movers had disassembled in DC. We refused to pay $550 for a service included in the contract. The subcontractor then unloaded an apartment's worth of furniture and left it on the curb. We had to hire another service to move the furniture into the apartment.
